Live in the Moment

Author Anna Quindlen reminds us not to rush past the fleeting moments. She said: “The biggest mistake I made [as a parent] is the one that most of us make. . . . I did not live in the moment enough. This is particularly clear now that the moment is gone, captured only in photographs. There is one picture of [my three children] sitting in the grass on a quilt in the shadow of the swing set on a summer day, ages six, four, and one. And I wish I could remember what we ate, and what we talked about, and how they sounded, and how they looked when they slept that night. I wish I had not been in such a hurry to get on to the next thing: dinner, bath, book, bed. I wish I had treasured the doing a little more and the getting it done a little less”(Loud and Clear [2004], 10–11).

Winter Band Concert

The Winter Band Concert was tonight. They did amazing.
It was a packed house so we ended up sitting behind the band.
I’ll try to tell you which one is Zach, Cailey or Ry. Here we go! ;)

Zach is standing up on right with a trombone second from the end. (jazz band)

….dancing with their trombones. The crowd went wild! They got a standing ovation.

This is the concert band. Zach plays tuba. His head is right in the middle by the PRHS stand.

They played “Let it Go” from Frozen. Some of the 6th grade band students got to help lead.

Our tuba player walking off the stage. :)

Next up was the 7th/8th grade band.
Cailey had a speaking part. That is her at the microphone.

…..walking back to her seat. Cailey plays clarinet.

Cara & her friend Addi chilling out during the concert.

7th/8th grade band

Doesn’t she look excited? ;)

Then it was the 6th grade band’s turn.
Rylan plays trumpet.
He is right in front of & to the left of the girl in heels.

The sixth grade band is huge. It has 100+ members.

Mr. Rylan

Zach with some of the band awards from this season.
They are really doing an amazing job! Go band!

pre-concert pictures

We were trying to get some pre-concert pictures of the kiddos
in their all black attire for the band concert tonight.
We couldn’t quite get it all together for that! ha! These are pretty funny though!

Santa Train

Today Cole’s preschool class rode the Santa Train.
We surprised Cara, and she got to come, too. :)

We got to visit with Santa, drink hot cocoa & have cookies.
We sang carols & had lots of fun just being together with friends. :)
